Weather Warning "Cold over Upper Thailand Heavy to Very Heavy Rain in Lower South and Strong Wind Waves in Gulf"

The strong high pressure covers upper Thailand. It is expected to cover until 31 December. Outbreaks of cold spells, as well as windy days, are likely with a decrease by 3-5 °C. Cold to very cold, 3-8 °C minimum is likely in the mountaintops of the North and the Northeast. People in upper Thailand should keep warm due to the change of weather conditions.
The strong northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South, with during 30 December 2016 1 January 2017 the low pressure over the lower South China Sea. It is forecast to move to the lower South of Thailand and Malesia. More rain is likely isolated heavy to very heavy rain of southern in Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat. People should beware of severe weather and possible flash flood, and all transport should proceed with caution.
The strong winds lead to waves 2-3 meters high in the Gulf. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore. People in the Gulf should beware of inshore surge until 1 January 2017.
