Weather Warning "Cold over Upper ThailandHeavy to Very Heavy Rain in Lower South and Strong Wind Waves in Gulf"

The strong northeast monsoon prevails over Thailand, the Gulf and the South while during 30 December 2016 - 1 January 2017 the low pressure over the lower South China Sea. It is expected to move to the lower South of Thailand and Malesia. More rain is likely in the areas and isolated heavy to very heavy rain in southern such as Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat. People should beware of severe weather, accumulate rain and possible flash flood. All transports should proceed in the areas with caution.
The strong winds lead to waves high 2-4 meters in the Gulf. All ships should proceed with caution and small boats keep ashore. People in the Gulf should beware of inshore surge until 4 January 2017.
The strong high pressure areas cover Thailand. It is expected to cover until 31 December 2016. Outbreaks of cold spells, as well as windy days, are likely with a decrease by 2-3 °C. Cold to very cold, 3-8 °C minimum is likely in the mountaintops of the North and the Northeast. People in upper Thailand should keep warm due to the change of weather conditions.
