General Situation
02 January 2026Another moderate to rather strong high-pressure system from China extend to upper Northeast. It is expected to cover upper Thailand by today (2 January 2026). Cool to cold weather and strong wind are forecast in the upper country. A decrease in temperature by 2-4 °C in the Northeast. While a decrease in temperature by 1-2 °C and cool in the morning is forecast in the rest regions except for the lower South. People should keep healthy due to cool to cold weather and beware of fire due to dry air and strong wind. The weak northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf, the South and the Andaman Sea is strengthening with isolated thundershowers. The strengthening wind force the waves in the lower Gulf up to be about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In the upper Gulf and the Andaman Sea offshore, the waves are expected 1-2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.

Southern (East Coast)
Morning cool in upper part. Isolated thundershowers mostly in Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, and Narathiwat. Minimum temperature 18-24 °C. Maximum temperature 29-33 °C. From Nakhon Si Thammarat upward : Northeasterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and about 2 meters in thundershowers. From Songkhla downward : Northeasterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (West Coast)
Isolated thundershowers mostly in Krabi and Trang. Minimum temperature 22-24 °C Maximum temperature 31-33 °C. Northeasterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height about 1 meter, 1-2 meters offshore and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
Bangkok Metropolitan
Morning cool with strong wind and 1-2 °C drop in temperature. Minimum temperature 20-23 °C. Maximum temperature 31-33 °C. Northeasterly winds 10-30 km/hr.
