General Situation
22 February 2025The easterly and southeasterly winds bring the moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the East and the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity regions while the weasterly wind prevail over the North and the western part of the Central with isolated thundershower and hot during the day over the upper country. People in thease areas should keep healthy due to changeable weather and beware of severe conditions. Farmers should take precautions to protect crops and animals from potential damage. The moderate northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf, the South and the Andaman Sea is strengthening more rain and isolated heavy rain in the South. The strengthening winds and waves in the lower Gulf are likely about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. In addtion, during 23-25 February 2025, the moderate to rather strong high-pressure system from China will extend to the Northeast and the South China Sea leading to the southerly and southeasterly winds bring the moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the upper country. Meanwhile, the westerly trough from Myanmar will move pass the North, the Northeast and upper Laos where hot weather occurs in the upper country. Thunderstorms, gusty wind and hail including lightning strike are likely in some areas of the upper country for the first period after that temperature will decrease. Rainfall is increasing in the South and heavy rains in many areas with very heavy rains in some areas. The strengthening wind force the wave in the lower Gulf up to 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers.

Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani and Narathiwat. Minimum temperature 22-26 °C. Maximum temperature 31-34 °C. Surat Thani upwards : Southeasterly winds 15-35 km./hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers. Nakhon Si Thammarat downwards : Easterly winds 20-35 km./hr. Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
