General Situation
22 May 2026The rather strong southwest monsoon prevailing over the upper Andaman Sea and Thailand is weakening while the low-pressure cell covers the upper Vietnam. Less rain and isolated heavy rains are forecast in the western part of country and the East. People should beware of heavy rain and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along waterways near foothills and lowlands. The moderate wind and waves in the upper Andaman Sea are likely about 2 meters high and above 5 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf, the waves are expected to be 1-2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.

Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chachoengsao, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. Minimum temperature 25-27 °C. Maximum temperature 30-33 °C. Southwesterly winds 20-35 km./hr. Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershower.
Southern (East Coast)
Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon and Surat Thani. Minimum temperature 23-26 °C. Maximum temperature 32-36 °C. Southwesterly winds 15-35 km./hr. Wave height 1-2 meters, about 2 meters offshore and above 2 meters in thundershower.
Southern (West Coast)
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket and Krabi. Minimum temperature 23-25 °C. Maximum temperature 32-36 °C. From Phuket northward: Southwesterly winds 20-35 km./hr. Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershower. From Krabi southward: Southwesterly winds 15-35 km./hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershower.
