General Situation
31 August 2026The monsoon trough lies across the upper North and the upper portion of the Northeast into the low-pressure cell over upper Vietnam while the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. Isolated heavy rains are forecast in Thailand while isolated very heavy rains are possible in the North, the Northeast and the East regions. People in the areas should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulation that may cause flash floods, overflows and landslides especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands. The rather strong winds force the waves in the upper Andaman Sea up to be 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf, the waves are expected about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore.

Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Lop Buri, and Saraburi. Minimum temperature 23-25 °C. Maximum temperature 34-35 °C. Southwest winds 10-25 km./hr.
Eastern
Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain in Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, and Rayong. Isolated very heavy rain in Nakhon Nayok, Chanthaburi, and Trat. Minimum temperature 23-27 °C. Maximum temperature 28-34 °C. Southwest winds 20-35 km./hr. Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (East Coast)
Scattered thundershowers mostly in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, and Surat Thani. Minimum temperature 23-26 °C. Maximum temperature 32-35 °C. From Surat Thani northward: Southwest winds 20-35 km./hr. Wave height 1-2 meters, 2 meters offshore and above 2 meters in thundershowers. From Nakhon Si Thammarat southward: Southwest winds 15-35 km./hr. Wave height about 1 meter, 1-2 meters offshore and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (West Coast)
Scattered thundershowers mostly in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, and Krabi. Minimum temperature 23-27 °C. Maximum temperature 32-34 °C. From Phuket northward: Southwest winds 20-40 km./hr. Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershowers. From Krabi southward: Southwest winds 20-35 km./hr. Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
