16 – 22 September 2026During 17 – 20 September 2026, more rains tn the upper country with isolated heavy to very heavy rains in the North, the Northeast, the Central, the East and the South because the high pressure system from China will extend to cover the upper North and the upper Northeast lead the monsoon trough to lie across the lower Central, the East and the upper South. The southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf will strengthen. The rather strong winds and waves in the upper Andaman Sea are expected 2 - 3 meters and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf, the wave are about 2 meters and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 21 – 22 September 2026, less rains in the country but isolated heavy rains still present in someplaces because of the high pressure system which cover the upper North and the upper Northeast will be weak lead the monsoon trough move to lie across the Central and the East into the low pressure cell over middle South China Sea. The moderated southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. The moderated winds and waves in the upper Andaman Sea are expected about 2 meters high, 1 - 2 meters high in the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In addition, during 19 – 22 September 2026, the low pressure cell over Martaban Bay trend to be strengthen to an active low pressure cell.
Caution
During 17 – 20 September 2026, people should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands. People also should beware of thundershowers and gusty wind. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the period. Small boat in the upper Andaman Sea should keep ashore during 17 – 20 September 2026.
