Weather Outlook During 12 - 18 Dec 2025During 12 – 13 Dec, the moderate high-pressure system covering upper Thailand will weaken. An increase in temperatures with morning fog are likely in the upper country while morning cool to cold is possible in the upper North and the upper Northeast regions. At the same time, the easterly wind will bring the moisture to upper Thailand with isolated rains/thundershowers in the upper country. During 14 – 16 Dec, another high-pressure system from China will extend to upper Thailand with a decrease in temperature and strong wind. A decrease in temperature by 3 – 5 °C is likely in the Northeast while a decrease in temperature by 2 – 4 °C is likely in the North, the Central and the East regions. During 17 – 18 Dec, the moderate high-pressure system covering upper Thailand will weaken. An increase in temperatures with morning fog are likely in the upper country while morning cool to cold is possible in the upper country. For the South, during 12 – 13 Dec, the low-pressure cell covers the lower South with more rains and scattered heavy rains to isolated very heavy rains in the South. During 14 – 18 Dec, the northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South will strengthening with continuous rainfalls in the South. The rather strong wind forces the waves in the lower Gulf up to be 2 – 3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the upper Gulf, the waves are expected about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In the Andaman Sea, the waves are expected 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers and offshore.
Caution
People in the upper country should keep healthy due to variable weathers throughout the period.
During 12 – 16 Dec, people in the upper country should beware of thundershowers and all farmers should prevent for crop's damage. People in the South should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulated rains that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands. All ships in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
