During 6 – 12 Dec 2024During 7 - 10 Dec, the moderate high-pressure system from China will extend to upper Thailand and the South China Sea with isolated light rains for the first period after that a decrease in temperature and strong wind in the areas. A decrease in temperature by 2 - 4 °C is likely in the Northeast while a decrease in temperature by 1 - 3 °C drop in temperature in the rest regions except for the South. During 11 - 12 Dec, the moderate high-pressure system covering upper Thailand and the South China Sea will weaken with an increase in temperature by 1 - 3 °C and morning fog are likely in the areas. Meanwhile, the easterly wave will move pass the lower Northeast, the East, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity and the upper South with isolated rains. During 6 – 7 and 11 - 12 Dec, the northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South is weakening with less rains and isolated heavy rains in the lower South. The moderate wind and waves in the lower Gulf are likely 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 8 - 10 Dec, the northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South will strengthen with isolated heavy rains in the lower South. The moderate to rather strong wind forces the waves in the lower Gulf up to about 2 meters high while 1-2 meters high in the upper Gulf and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In the Andaman Sea, the waves have about 1 meter high, 1 – 2 meters high offshore and above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Caution
During 6 – 7 and 11 – 12 Dec, people in the upper country should keep healthy due to changeable weather, all transport take more caution due to poor visibility and farmers should prevent for crop damage. During 8 - 10 Dec, people in the upper country should keep healthy due to cool weather and beware of fire due to strong winds and dry air. People in the lower South should beware of heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands. All ships in the Gulf and Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the period.
