During 2 – 8 January 2026During 2 – 5 Jan 2026, another moderate to rather strong high-pressure system from China extend to upper Thailand and the South China Sea with a decrease in temperature and strong wind in the upper country. Cool to cold weather is forecast in the North, the Northeast and the upper Central while cool in the morning is forecast in the rest regions except for the lower South. During 6 – 8 Jan 2026, another rather strong high-pressure system from China will extend to upper Thailand and the South China Sea with cool to cold weather, a decrease in temperature and strong wind in the upper country. For the South, During 2 – 5 Jan 2026, the moderate northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf, the South and the Andaman sea with isolated thundershowers in the lower South. The moderate wind and waves in the lower Gulf are expected about 2 meters high, 1-2 meters high in the upper Gulf and the Andaman Sea offshore and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 6 – 8 Jan 2026, the moderate northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf, the South and the Andaman sea will strengthening with more rains and isolated heavy rains in the lower South. The strengthening wind force the waves in the lower Gulf are expected 2 - 3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the upper Gulf, the waves are expected about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Caution
People in the upper country and the upper South should keep healthy due to cool to cold weather and beware of fire due to dry air and strong wind. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the period, small boats in the lower Gulf keep ashore during 6 – 8 Jan 2026.
