Weather Outlook During 7 - 13 Jan 2026During 7 – 10 Jan 2026, strong high-pressure system from China cover the upper Thailand and the South China Sea with cool to cold weather and strong wind. A decrease in temperature by 3 – 5 °C are forecast in the North and the Northeast while a decrease in temperature by 2 – 4 °C are forecast in the rest regions except for the South. The rather strong northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf, the South and the Andaman sea with isolated thundershower in the lower South. The strengthening wind force the waves in the Gulf up to be 2 - 3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the Andaman Sea, the waves are expected 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers and offshore. During 11 – 13 Jan 2026, the rather strong high-pressure system covering upper Thailand and the South China Sea will weaken with an increase in temperature, morning fog and thick patches in some places in the upper country. Cool to cold weather are forecast in the upper country. The rather strong northeast monsoon prevailing over the lower Gulf and the lower South will weaken with less rain mostly in the lower South. The weakening wind and waves in the Gulf are expected about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In the Andaman Sea, the waves are expected about 1 meter high, 1 - 2 meters high offshore and above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Caution
People in the upper country and the upper South should keep healthy due to cool to cold weather and beware of fire due to dry air and strong wind.
