10 – 16 August 2026During 11 – 14 August 2026, the monsoon trough lies across Myanmar, upper of the North and upper Loas into the low pressure cell over upper Vietnam while the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. Isolated heavy rains are forecast in the country. During 15 - 16 August 2026, the monsoon trough lies across the upper North and upper Laos while the rather strong southwest monsoon still prevail over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. Isolated heavy rains are possible in North, the Northeast, the Central, the East and the South (west coast) regions. During 10 – 11 August 2026, the rather strong wind force the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to be 2 - 3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Andaman Sea, the waves are expected about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 12 – 16 August 2026, The rather strong wind and waves still present in the upper Andaman Sea are expected 2 - 3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the upper Gulf, the wave are about 2 meters, in the lower Andaman Sea, the waves are expected 1 - 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers.
Caution
people in Thailand should beware of heavy rains and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands. All ships in the Gulf and Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers throughout the period, small boats in the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore lasting 16 August 2026 and small boats in the upper Gulf keep ashore lasting 11 August 2026.
