Subject: Cool to cold in Thailand and Strong wind-waves in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea
(Effect until 13 January 2025)
During 11-13 Jan 2025, another strong high-pressure system from China cover Thailand and the South China Sea with a decrease in temperature and strong winds in a whole regions. A decrease in temperature by 5-7 °C is likely in the North and the Northeast while a decrease in temperature by 4–6 °C is likely in the rest regions except for the South. People in the country should keep healthy and beware of fire due to strong winds and dry air.
The strong northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South with isolated heavy rain in the lower South. The waves in the Gulf up to 2-4 meters high and above 4 meters high in thundershowers while the waves in the Andaman Sea are likely 1-2 meters high, 2-3 meters high offshore and above 3 meters high in thundershower. People along the South (east coast) should beware of inshore surges. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Boats in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea should keep ashore until 13 Jan 2025.
