Subject: Cool to cold weather in upper Thailand, Heavy to Very Heavy
Rainfall in the South and the Strong wind and wave over the Gulf
No.12 (339/2024)
During 15-16 December 2024, the rather high-pressure system from China extend to upper Thailand and the South China Sea with a decrease in temperature by 1-3 °C and morning cool to cold with windy. People should keep healthy and beware of fire due to strong winds and dry air.
The rather strong northeast monsoon prevails over the gulf and the South while the low-pressure cells move pass the lower Gulf, the lower South and Malaysia with isolated heavy to very heavy rains are likely in the South. People in the south should beware of heavy to very heavy rains that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands. The rather strong wind forces the waves in the Gulf up to 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. People along the Gulf shore should beware of inshore surges. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in the Gulf keep ashore.

South: Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Ranong, Phang Nga, Krabi and Trang.
On 16 December 2024
South: Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Trang and Satun.
