Subject: Heavy Rain in the South
and Strong Wind-Waves
in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea
(Effect until 18 January 2025)

From 17-18 January, the northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf, the South and the Andaman Sea is strengthening with isolated heavy rains in the lower South. People in the areas should beware of the heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the foothill near waterways and lowlands.
Affected areas are as followings:
On 17 January 2025
South: Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat.
During 18 January 2025
South: Yala, and Narathiwat.
The strengthening wind forces the waves in the Gulf up to 2–3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the Andaman Sea, the waves are likely 1-2 meters high, 2-3 meters high offshore and above 3 meters in thundershower. People along the Gulf shore should beware of inshore surges. All ship in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers area, small boats in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea should keep ashore lasting 18 January 2025.
