Subject: Heavy Rainfall in the South
No.3 (321/2024)
During 3-5 December 2024, the low-pressure cell over the lower South China Sea will move from the lower South and Malaysia to the lower Andaman Sea and the Malacca Strait while the moderate northeast monsoon prevails over the South and the Gulf with isolated heavy to very heavy rains in the lower South. People in the lower south should beware of heavy to very heavy rains that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands.
Affected areas are as followings:
On 3 December 2024
South: Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Trang and Satun.
On 4 December 2024
South: Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Krabi,
Trang and Satun.
On 5 December 2024
South: Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Krabi, Trang and Satun.
The moderated wind and waves in the lower Gulf are likely 1-2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In the upper Gulf and the Andaman Sea, the waves have about 1 meter high and above 1 meter high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
