Storm “KAJIKI” and heavy to very heavy rain in Thailand No.14 (217/2025)

At 7.00 p.m. LST (25 August 2025), typhoon “KAJIKI” was down to the severe tropical storm and at 10.00 p.m. LST was centered at the south of Vinh, Vietnam or at latitude 18.4 degrees north and longitude 105.6 degrees east with maximum sustained winds about 90 km./hr. This storm is moving westward with a speed of 15 km/hr. The storm is expected downgrade to the tropical depression and move cover Laos and the Northeast by morning 26 August. Finally, it will downgrade to an active low-pressure cell over Nan, Thailand by afternoon 26 August, causing isolated heavy to very heavy rain and strong winds over the North and the upper Northeast of Thailand during 25–27 August 2025. People in the country should beware of heavy to very heavy rain, strong wind and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands.
