Subject: Storm “KAJIKI”
and heavy to very heavy rain in Thailand
No.19 (222/2025)

The monsoon trough lies across Myanmar into a low-pressure cell covering the upper North of Thailand. This causes heavy to very heavy rain in some areas of the North and the upper Northeast, especially in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Tak, Sukhothai, and Uttaradit. People in the country should beware of heavy to very heavy rain and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands.
Affected areas are as followings
27 August 2025
North:
Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai,
Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit,
Tak, Sukhothai,
Phitsanulok, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, and Phetchabun.
Northeast:
Loei and Nong Khai.
Central: Uthai Thani,
Kanchanaburi, and Ratchaburi including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon
Nayok, Chanthaburi, and Trat.
South: Chumphon and Ranong.
The rather strong southwest monsoon prevailing over the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand is weakening. Waves are about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
