Subject: Storm “KAJIKI”
and heavy to very heavy rain in Thailand
No.6 (209/2025)
At 07.00 p.m. LST (23 August 2025), tropical storm “KAJIKI” over the upper South China Sea has intensified to severe tropical storm. At 10.00 p.m. LST, it was centered about 670 kilometers east of Dong Hoi, Vietnam or at latitude 17.7 degrees north and longitude 113.0 degrees east with maximum sustained winds about 93 km./hr. This storm is moving west with a speed of 20 km./hr., expected to intensify. During 25-26 August, the storm is forecast to make landfall over upper Vietnam and upper Loas. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will strengthen. More rain and isolated heavy to very heavy rain with strong winds are likely in the North, the upper Northeast, the Central and the East including Bangkok and vicinity during 24–27 August. People in the country should beware of heavy to very heavy rain and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands.

Northeast:

Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum,
Khon Kaen, Kalasin and Mukdahan.
Central: Lopburi, Suphanburi, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Ranong, Phang Nga and Phuket.
On 25 August 2025
North:
Chiang Rai, Lamphun,
Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Phichit,

Phetchabun.
Northeast:

South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket and Krabi.

North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang
Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae,
Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak,
Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani,
Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom,
Khon Kaen,
Kalasin, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon
Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi,
including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Ranong, Phang Nga and Phuket.
The rather strong wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to
2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. All ships in the Andaman Sea should
proceed with caution. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf should keep ashore.
