Subject: Storm “MATMO”
No.11 (287/2025)

At 01.00 a.m.
LST (6 October 2025), typhoon “MATMO” was downgrade to the severe tropical
storm and made landfall the south of Guangxi, China. At 4.00 a.m. was centered at
latitude 21.8 degrees north and longitude 107.4 degrees east with maximum
sustained winds about 110 km/hr. This storm is moving northwest
with a speed of 20 km/hr., Storm “MATMO” is forecasted to
downgrade rapidly due to the extending of the high-pressure system from China
during 6-7October 2025. This storm is not move to
Thailand.
The
storm “MATMO” effects to the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea,
Thailand and the Gulf will strengthen during 6-7 October
2025. Isolated heavy rains are possible in the North, the Northeast, the East
and the South. People in the areas should beware of heavy rains and
accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows especially along the
waterways near foothills and lowlands.
The moderate wind
and waves in the upper Andaman Sea are expected 1-2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships
should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
