Subject: Storm “MATMO”

No.14 (290/2025)

            At 7.00 p.m. LST (6 October 2025), tropical storm “MATMO” was downgraded to tropical depression over Lang Son, Vietnam. At 10.00 p.m. was centered at latitude 23.0 degrees north and longitude 106.0 degrees east with maximum sustained winds about 55 km/hr. This storm is moving west-northwest with a speed of 20 km/hr.             The storm “MATMO” effects to the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will strengthen during 6-7 October 2025. Isolated heavy rains are possible in the North, the Northeast, the East and the South. People in the areas should beware of heavy rains and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands.

The moderate wind and waves in the upper Andaman Sea are expected 1-2 meters high and above   2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
