Storm “MAYSAK”

At 8.00
p.m. LST (4 July 2026), tropical storm “MAYSAK” over the upper South China Sea is
intensified to severe tropical storm. At 10.00 p.m. LST (4 July 2026), it was
centered about 45 kilometers south of Guangxi, China or at latitude 21.2
degrees north and longitude 107.7 degrees east with maximum sustained winds
speed of about 93 km/hr. This storm is moving northwest slowly. The storm is expected to make landfall over the South of Guangxi,
China by tonight (4 July 2026). This storm will not move to Thailand.
The
effect of storm “MAYSAK” with the monsoon trough lying across the upper North
and the upper Loas while the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails over the
Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf with isolated
heavy to very heavy rain especially in the North, the upper Northeast and the
East during 5–6 July 2026.
The
wind and the wave over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf will strengthen. The wind
and wave over the upper Andaman Sea is likely 2-3 meters high and above 3
meters high in thundershowers. The wind and waves in the lower Andaman Sea and
the upper Gulf are expected about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in
thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off
thundershowers. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea should keep ashore.
