Storm “MAYSAK”
No.9 (112/2026)

At 01.00 a.m. LST (5 July 2026), the severe tropical storm “MAYSAK”
has made landfall over Quang Ninh district, Vietnam and at 04.00 a.m.
LST (5 July 2026), it was centered at the south of Guangxi, China or at
latitude 21.8
degrees north and longitude 108.4
degrees east with maximum sustained winds speed of about 93 km/hr. This storm was
moving north-northeast at a speed of 10 km./hr.
It is expected to downgrade to the tropical depression and an active-low
pressure cell, respectively. This storm will not move to Thailand.
The
effect of storm “MAYSAK” with the monsoon trough lying across the upper North
and the upper Loas while the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails over the
Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf with isolated
heavy to very heavy rain especially in the North, the upper Northeast and the
East during 5–6 July 2026.
The
wind and the wave over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf will strengthen. The wind
and wave over the upper Andaman Sea is likely 2-3 meters high and above 3
meters high in thundershowers. The wind and waves in the lower Andaman Sea and
the upper Gulf are expected about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in
thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off
thundershowers. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea should keep ashore.

5.00 a.m.
