Subject: Storm “WIPHA” and heavy to very heavy rain in Thailand
No.16 (202/2025)

Active low-pressure cell
which downgraded from Depression “WIPHA” cover the upper North.
It is likely to move along the monsoon through lying upper Laos and the
upper North. It is expected to move west (out of Thailand) toward Myanmar
during 25-26 July 2025.
The effects of active low-pressure cell and the strong southwest monsoon prevailing across the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf are impacts of heavy to very heavy rain and strong wind in the North, the upper Northeast, western Central and the East during 23-24 July 2025. People in the country should beware of heavy to very heavy rain and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands.
Affected areas are as followings
23 July 2025
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang,
Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit,
Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Sakon
Nakhon and Nakhon Phanom.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan.

and Kamphaeng Phet.
Northeast: Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Uthai Thani and Kanchanaburi.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Chanthaburi and Trat.
The rather strong wind forces the waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf up to 2-4 meters high and above 4 meters high in thundershowers. All ships in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf should keep ashore during this period.
This advisory is in effect on 23 July 2025, at 5.00 p.m.
