From 24 to 26 April 2023, the moderate high pressure system covers northeastern Thailand and the South China Sea. Meanwhile hot to very hot weather occurs in the upper country where the stronger southerly and southeasterly winds bring the humidity from the Gulf and the South China Sea. Outbreaks of summer storms are possible with thunderstorms, strong winds, isolated hail and lightning strikes. People should beware of the severe conditions by keeping off outdoor places, big trees, unsecured buildings and billboards, as well as taking off metal decorations and mobiles during the events. Farmers should prevent for crop damage.
Affected areas are as followings:
24 April 2023
North: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Uthai Thani, Lop Buri and Saraburi.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
25-26 April 2023
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and
Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Suphan Buri, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Samut Songkhram,
Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
In addition, the easterly and the southeasterly winds prevail across the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea with isolated thundershowers in the South (west coast). People should beware of the severe weather. The waves of both seas are lower than 1 meter high and in the thundershowers more than 2 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution.
