Subject: Summer Thunderstorm in the upper Thailand
and heavy rains in the South
(Effect until 12 May 2025)

The moderate high-pressure system from China extends to Vietnam and the South China Sea. The southerly and southeasterly winds bring the moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the upper Thailand where hot weather occurs. Outbreaks of summer storms are possible following thunderstorms, gusty wind, hail, and heavy rains including lightning strikes are likely in some areas of the Northeast at first then the rest regions.
Affected areas are as follows

North: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun and Tak.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong,

People in the upper country should beware of the thunderstorm with gusty winds, hails and strikes by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards including should beware of severe conditions and accumulated rain that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands. Farmers should prevent for crops damage. People in the upper country should keep healthy due to the variable weather.
The southwesterly wind prevailing over the Andaman Sea and the South is strengthening with more rain and isolated heavy rains in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi and Trang. People in the South should beware of heavy rains and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands. The strengthening wind forces the waves in the Andaman Sea up to 1-2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers.
