Subject: Tropical Depression over the upper South China Sea
No.1 (135/2025)

At 07.00 a.m. LST (10 June 2025), the active low pressure cell over the upper South China Sea is intensified to tropical depression. At 10.00 a.m., it was centered at latitude 15.0 degrees north and longitude 114.5 degrees east with maximum sustained winds about 55 km./hr. This storm is moving west-northwest slowly. It is expected to intensify to tropical storm and move pass Hinan Island into the south of China during 13-14 June 2025. It is likely to downgrade to tropical depression and an active-low pressure cell, respectively. This storm will not move to Thailand.
This advisory is in effect on 10 June 2025, at 11.00 a.m.
