Subject: Tropical Depression over the upper South China Sea
No.4 (138/2025)

At 4.00 a.m. LST (11 June 2025), the tropical depression over the upper South China Sea was due 450 km. southeast of Hinan Island or at latitude 15.5 degrees north and longitude 113.0 degrees east with maximum sustained winds about 55 km./hr. This storm is moving west-northwest at a speed of 15 km./hr. It is expected to intensify to tropical storm and move pass the eastern part of Hinan Island into the south of China during 13-14 June 2025. It is likely to downgrade to tropical depression and an active-low pressure cell, respectively. This storm will not move to Thailand but induce the southwest monsoon which prevail across Thailand to be more strength. More rains and heavy rain will present in the eastern part of the Northeast region. The waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf will be strengthen.
