Tropical storm “MAN-YI”
No.8 (298/2024)

At 10.00 p.m. LST (19 November 2024),
the tropical storm “MAN-YI” over the upper South China Sea was due at 143 km. southeast of Hainan, China
or at latitude 17.9 degrees north and longitude 111.6 degrees east with maximum
sustained winds about 65 km/hr. This storm was west-southwest at a speed of 20 km/hr. It is moving near Hainan,
China and it is forecast to downgrade to the severe tropical storm, the tropical storm, the tropical depression, respectively by
tomorrow (20 November 2024). This storm will not move to Thailand. The travelers should check
the weather forecast for the region you're going to be visiting.
During 20-23 November 2024, the strengthening northeast monsoon
prevails over the Gulf, the South and the Andaman Sea with more rains and isolated
heavy to very heavy rains in Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si
Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat.
Isolated heavy rains in Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang and Satun. People in the South should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and
accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially in the
foothills near the waterways and the lowland areas. The strengthening wind
force the waves in the gulf and the Andaman Sea. The waves in the lower Gulf up
to about 2 meters high, 1-2 meters in the upper gulf and about 1 meter in the
Andaman Sea, 1-2 meters high offshore and above 2 meters in thundershowers.
