Subject: Typhoon “YINXING”
No.4 (265/2024)
At 10.00 p.m. LST (8 November 2024), the typhoon “YINXING” over the upper South China Sea. It was due at latitude 18.5 degrees north and longitude 116.4 degrees east. With maximum sustained winds about 140 km/hr. This storm was moving west at a speed of 20 km/hr. It is expected to move near southern Hainan, China and the coast of middle Vietnam during 10-12 November 2024 and it is forecast to downgrade to the severe tropical storm, the tropical storm, the tropical depression, respectively. This storm will not move to Thailand. The travelers should check the weather forecast for the region you're going to be visiting.
During 8-11 November 2024, the monsoon trough lie across the lower South while the moderate southwest monsoon prevails over the upper Gulf and the upper South with isolated heavy to very heavy rains in the South. People in the areas should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially in the foothills near the waterways and the lowland areas.
