Subject: Variable weather over the upper Thailand
No.4 (216/2024)
From 29 September to 3 October 2024, the moderate high-pressure system from China will extend to eastern part of the North and the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea while the monsoon trough will lie across the North, the lower Northeast, the Central and the East regions. Variable weather, thundershowers, gusty winds and isolated heavy rains are likely in the upper country while isolated very heavy rains are possible in the North, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity and the East regions after that a decrease in temperature by 1 – 3 °C with strong wind are likely in the Northeast. People in upper Thailand should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands and keep healthy due to the changeable weather.
Affected areas are as followings:
On 29 September
Northeast: Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon and Nakhon Phanom.
During 30 September – 1 October
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae,
Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Singburi, Ang Thong, Lopburi, Saraburi, Suphanburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong,
Chanthaburi and Trat.

During 2 – 3 October

Saraburi, Suphanburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi,
Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, including Bangkok and its
vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong,
Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan and Chumphon.
The advisory is in effect on 29 September 2024, at 5.00 p.m.
This next issue will be on 30 September 2024, at 5.00 a.m.
