Subject: Heavy Rainfall in the South, The Strong wind and wave over the lower Gulf
And cool to cold weather in upper Thailand
No.8 (315/2024)
The rather strong high-pressure system from China covers upper Thailand, the upper South and the South China Sea. At the same time, the rather strong northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South while the low-pressure cell covers the Malacca Strait and Malaysia. Isolated heavy to very heavy rains are likely in Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Krabi, Trang and Satun. People in the area should beware of heavy to very heavy rains that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands and people along the Gulf shore should beware of inshore surges. The rather strong wind force the waves in the lower Gulf up to 2-3 meters high and above 3meters high in thundershowers while the waves in the upper Gulf have about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. In the Andaman Sea, the waves have about 1 meter high, 1-2 meters high offshore and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, smalls boat in the lower Gulf should keep ashore lasting 30 November 2024.
A decrease in temperature by 1–2 °C and strong winds are likely in the upper country and the upper South. Cool to cold weather is likely in the Northeast while cool in the morning is likely in the rest regions except the lower South. People in the areas should keep healthy due to changeable weather and beware of fire due to strong winds and dry air.
