Subject: Storm “MAYSAK”

At 10.00 p.m. LST (5 July 2026),
tropical storm “MAYSAK” over Guangxi China or at latitude 24.0 degrees north and longitude
108.7 degrees east with maximum sustained winds speed of about 65 km/hr. This
storm was moving north-northeast at a speed
of 15 km./hr. It is expected to downgrade to the tropical depression and an
active-low pressure cell, respectively. This storm is forecast to
dissipate over the south of China.
The effect of storm “MAYSAK” with the monsoon
trough lying across Myanmar, upper Laos and upper Vietnam while the rather
strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf During 5–6 July 2026, isolated heavy to very heavy
rain are likely in the North, the upper Northeast, the Central and the East,
while less rain is expected in the South.
The wind and the wave over the Andaman Sea
and the Gulf will strengthen. The wind and wave over the upper Andaman Sea is
likely 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. The wind and
waves in the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf are expected about 2 meters
high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with
caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea
should keep ashore.
