Subject: Summer thunderstorm in
the upper country

2026 )

During 23–25
Feb 2026, another
high-pressure system will cover the Northeast and the South China Sea, while
southerly and southeasterly winds bring moisture from the South China Sea and
the Gulf to the Northeast, the Central region, Bangkok and its vicinity, and
the East. At the same time, a westerly trough will move through the North and
the Northeast while hot weather occurs over the upper country. This will cause
summer thunderstorms with gusts, lightning, and hail in the upper country.
People in the upper country should beware of summer thunderstorms and severe
conditions by keeping away from outdoor areas, big trees, and unsecured
billboards. Farmers should prevent crop damage and danger to animals.
This advisory is in effect on 20 February 2026, at. 11.00 a.m.
