Subject: Variable weather in upper Thailand, Heavy rainfall
in the South and strong wind-waves over the lower Gulf
(Effect during 23-25 February 2025)

During 23-25 February 2025, the moderate to rather strong high-pressure system from China will extend to the Northeast and the South China Sea leading to the southerly and southeasterly winds bring the moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the upper country. Meanwhile, the westerly trough from Myanmar will move pass the North, the Northeast and upper Laos where hot weather occurs in the upper country. Thunderstorms, gusty wind and lightning strike are likely in some areas of the upper country while hail are likely in the North and the Northeast for the first period after that temperature will decrease.
All transport take more caution in severe conditions. People in upper Thailand should beware of severe conditions by keeping off outdoor places, big trees and unsecured billboards including should keep healthy due to changeable weather and farmers should prevent for crops damage and animals danger.
Rainfall is increasing in the South and heavy rains in many areas with very heavy rains in some areas. The strengthening wind force the wave in the lower Gulf up to 2–3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. People in the South beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may be flashing floods and overflows. All ships in the Gulf and Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers area, small boats in the lower Gulf keep ashore.

On 23 February 2025
South: Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Ranong, Phang Nga and Krabi.
On 24 February 2025
South: Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.
On 25 February 2025
South: Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat.
This advisory is in effect on 21 February 2025, at 5.00 p.m.
